Non-forest greenery from different perspectives

Trees can be viewed from many different perspectives. Trees as a specific biotope with its own laws, home to hundreds of different other organisms. Trees as the „lungs of the planet“, „air conditioning“, simply as something that helps us survive on Earth. Trees as part of a place’s history, cultural heritage, a certain respect. Trees as an aesthetic element, inspiration. And for some, of course, trees as a danger, a source of „mess“ or problems in general.

For many, trees are a symbol of nature and its protection. Planting trees is one of the most popular volunteer activities and protecting them is one of the most common civic activities in nature conservation. But do we know how and where to plant trees and where, on the contrary, plantings can cause more harm than good? Aren’t we forgetting to take care of those that have been with us for decades? How to take care of them? When does it make sense to fight for them and when is it reasonable to cut down a veteran tree? Does the life of a tree really end when it dries up? How do the laws look at all this?
